Forgotten – The Malakites
Hailing from Cardiff, The Malakites are a four-piece indie/alternative rock band who kicked off 2025 with a UK tour that included a sold-out homecoming at Clwb Ifor Bach. Their shimmering guitar textures and emotionally charged energy have earned them festival slots at Shiiine On Weekender, Y Not Festival, BBC 6 Music Fringe, and the Isle of Wight Festival. “Forgotten” is their second single of the year and is taken from their upcoming EP familiar faces, set for release later this year.
Sweet & Divine – Brook Fox
From the coastal town of Burry Port in Carmarthenshire, Brook Fox has had a busy summer, performing at Beechwood Park’s Summer Sessions and landing on the BBC Radio Wales A-list for three consecutive weeks with this single. Inspired during the pandemic by the likes of Ed Sheeran and Gerry Cinnamon, Fox’s music combines catchy songwriting with heartfelt storytelling. “Sweet & Divine” reflects on the complexities of relationships—balancing tension with hope.
Again & again – Kombat
London-based indie rock artist Kombat, of English and Indian heritage, is breaking barriers for mixed-ethnic musicians in 2025. Influenced by The Jam and Arctic Monkeys, his sound blends rock ’n’ roll roots with indie flair and honest, reflective songwriting. Tracks like “Feel Overstated,” “On The Line,” and “Mammoth” showcase his emotional depth, while “Again & again” is another example of his candid, personal approach to music.
