Matty Jacob named Newport County Player of the Month for September

poem

Matty Jacob has been named Newport County’s Player of the Month for September following a vote by the Newport County supporters.

The full-back has made a strong impression since arriving at Rodney Parade on loan from Hull City, becoming an important part of Hayden Mullins’ side during his first month with the club.

Jacob started every League Two fixture for the Exiles throughout September, demonstrating his consistency and reliability in the middle of the pitch as County continued their campaign.

The 25-year-old featured prominently across the month, playing an important role in a number of positive performances and helping County compete across a busy run of League Two fixtures.

Jacob also recorded an assist during September, adding an attacking contribution to a series of impressive displays in County colours.

Since joining the club, the Hull City loanee has quickly established himself within the squad and has impressed supporters with his performances, work rate and ability to contribute both in and out of possession.

His consistent displays throughout September have now been recognised by the Amber Army, with supporters voting Jacob as their Player of the Month.

Congratulations to Matty on the award!
