Shaquille Gwengwe has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award for August following an impressive start to life in the professional game with Newport County.
The forward has made an immediate impact since joining the club, scoring four goals in his first three league appearances.
Gwengwe opened his account with a brace against Tranmere Rovers before adding further goals against Swindon Town and in the opening-day victory over Rochdale.
His latest goal was arguably his most important, with the forward producing a composed finish in the 89th minute to rescue a point against Tranmere Rovers at Rodney Parade.
Gwengwe's form has seen him recognised alongside three other nominees for the August award: Harry Boyes of York City, Charlie Lakin of Barnet and Josh March of Crewe Alexandra.
The nomination comes after Gwengwe's first full month as a professional footballer, having previously established himself as a prolific goalscorer in non-league football with Poole Town.
The Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
The winner will be announced on Friday, September 11.
