Shared Shirts | Crawley Town

Dom

This Good Friday Newport County take on Crawley Town at Rodney Parade, so let’s take a look at who has shared the shirt between County and the Reds.

Dom Telford

Dom Telford had a very memorable time during his stay at Newport, until later joining Crawley.

Telford joined Newport in January 2021, where he signed from Plymouth Argyle. The striker turned out to be an amazing player for the club as in his only full season at the club, the Englishman scored 26 goals in 40 games. Telford also went on a seven-game scoring streak, scoring 11 goals in this short period. The forward was also the League Two top goalscorer.

However, after this outstanding season, Telford would join Crawley Town. The striker would stay for just over a season, featuring only four times in his second season before joining Barrow. During his stint at the Reds, he scored 15 goals in 51 matches and also captained the side for the four games he played in his second season.

Harry McKirdy

Harry McKirdy currently plays for Crawley and has featured in most league games this season. However, McKirdy did play for Newport early in his career.

McKirdy joined Newport on loan from Aston Villa U23 in January 2019 and stayed with County until the end of the season. McKirdy mainly came off the bench during his time at the club and scored his only goal against Cambridge United in a 3-0 win. The Englishman also featured in the second leg of the League Two play-off semi-final against Mansfield Town.

This season McKirdy signed for Crawley from Bromley and has been showing his talent so far this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in 29 games. The forward has been key in trying to keep the Reds outside of the relegation zone as they head towards the last few games of the season.

Dominic Poleon

Dominic Poleon, who currently plays for Hornchurch, once featured for both the Exiles and the Reds.

Poleon first played for Crawley after joining from Bradford City in July 2018. During the one season he played at Crawley, Poleon scored six goals as well as an assist. The attacker helped Crawley to a mid-table finish before he joined County the following season.

The former Saint Lucia international also only stayed for a season and was loaned out to Dover Athletic halfway through the season. The forward featured 12 times for the Welsh side, mainly playing in the EFL Trophy, being part of the campaign in which Newport reached the semi-final.
