This Saturday Newport County welcome Harrogate Town to Rodney Parade, so let's take a look at past players who have shared the shirt between both clubs.
Bryn Morris
Bryn Morris currently plays for Harrogate but enjoyed a brief period of his career at the Exiles.
Morris joined Newport from Grimsby Town in July 2023 where he featured in 78 matches, his most for any club. During his time in Wales, he scored 11 goals and provided five assists. The midfielder also played in Newport’s historic FA Cup run where they ultimately were defeated by Manchester United 4-2 with Morris scoring the Exiles’ first goal in the match.
However, in January 2025 Morris left Newport to join Harrogate. Since being at the Sulphurites, Morris has played 67 games where he has scored twice and provided four assists. Morris most recently scored against one of his former clubs, Grimsby.
Shawn McCoulsky
Shawn McCoulsky also plays alongside Morris at Harrogate but enjoyed a loan spell at Newport early in his career.
McCoulsky joined Newport on loan from Bristol City in the 2017/18 season and scored 11 goals in 35 matches, helping the Exiles to an 11th place finish in the league. McCoulsky also had an enjoyable FA Cup run with Newport, scoring against Leeds and getting to a fourth-round replay against Tottenham.
Although after a lengthy time at Maidenhead United, the centre forward was signed by Harrogate where in his debut season for the club, he has featured in 27 matches, having three assists and one goal as he scored against Barrow in a 1-0 victory.
