Tan Nyakuhwa reflects on today's victory and scoring the winning goal to secure all three points for the Exiles this afternoon.
Tan also reflected on how special it was to score the winning goal in front of the Newport County supporters, having supported the club as a boy.
Yeah, it's surreal, to be honest. As a fan, when I came here, it was something special, but as a player, I can't really describe the feeling of it. I feel like I've built a lot of my connection with the fans, and yeah, I'm enjoying my time here.
Tan also spoke about having family in attendance to witness the special occasion.
Yeah, my dad was here. He brought a mate along as well, so yeah, it was good.
The forward discussed returning from international duty and making an immediate impact after his impressive performance against Swindon Town.
Yeah, I know. The international break came at maybe not the best time, if you want to call it that, because I'd just come off the back of a goal and an assist at Swindon. But yeah, I'm glad to come back in and get on the scoresheet quite quickly, and I'm looking forward to the coming weeks.
Tan also highlighted the confidence given to him by the manager to make a difference when introduced from the bench.
Yeah, no, I try to do that. I think the gaffer gives me the confidence coming off the bench to change the game, and fortunately, I was able to do that today.
The forward acknowledged the competition for places in the wide areas and the importance of taking opportunities when they arise.
Of course, yeah. There's great competition in those areas, with people scoring goals. So, when you get your chance, you've got to take it, and I was able to do that today.
Finally, Tan reflected on the squad's growing confidence following seven games unbeaten in all competitions.
Yeah, 100%. I think we're still just trying to take it game by game, but we're most definitely gaining confidence with each game we play, especially at home as well. I reckon our home form will be fantastic, and long may that continue.
