Having reviewed a volunteer matter, the club accepts that there has been a degree of miscommunication in how the situation was handled, and we recognise that this fell short of the standards we set for ourselves. We sincerely regret any upset this may have caused.
Volunteers are an essential part of Newport County AFC, and we are grateful for the time, commitment and passion they give to the club and our community. It is important that everyone who supports the club feels valued, respected and properly informed.
We have reviewed our internal processes and will be ensuring that our existing policies and procedures, particularly around communication with volunteers, are adhered to more consistently going forward. We will also make sure that all staff and volunteers are clear on these policies and their signed code of conducts.
