Newport County are pleased to welcome back goalkeeper Shaun MacDonald, who has rejoined the club after a short period away following the conclusion of his contract earlier this month.
Shaun, a familiar and well-respected figure within the squad, returned to training this week and will once again provide cover and support within the goalkeeping department.
The 29-year-old originally joined the Exiles at the start of the season on a short-term deal, arriving as a free agent to add depth between the posts. During his initial spell at Rodney Parade, Shaun worked alongside Jordan Wright and New Zealand international Nik Tzanev, bringing experience, professionalism and a strong presence within the group.
Although he did not make a competitive appearance during his previous stay, Shaun’s contribution on the training ground and around the squad was highly valued by staff and players alike.
Shaun’s career includes over 100 professional appearances, with previous spells at Gateshead, Blyth Spartans, Torquay United, Cheltenham Town and Exeter City.
Everyone at Newport County would like to extend a warm welcome back to Shaun and wish him the very best during his return to Rodney Parade.
