Player Biography

Keenan Patten is a Welsh midfielder who joined Newport County on deadline day in January 2025, signing an 18-month deal with the club. Born on 7 April 2001 in Cardiff, Wales, Patten began his footballing journey at Cardiff City's academy, progressing through the ranks to sign a professional contract in 2019.

 He gained valuable experience during loan spells at Hereford FC in the National League North and at Penybont in the Cymru Premier. In August 2022, he made a permanent move to AFC Fylde before joining Barry Town United in June 2023. At Barry, Patten enjoyed a productive spell, scoring 10 goals in 26 appearances during the 2024–25 season. 

Patten joined Newport County in January 2025, making his debut for Newport County on 8 February 2025 in a 3–0 victory over Crewe Alexandra. However, in July 2025, Patten suffered an open leg fracture during a pre-season friendly against Bristol City, requiring surgery and a lengthy period of recovery.
