Riley Lonergan is a Welsh midfielder who joined Newport County's academy at under-16 level. Born on 23 December 2006 in Newport, Lonergan quickly established a strong relationship with The Exiles' Academy Manager, Luke Hussey. He has been a standout talent in the club’s Under-18s squad, known for his technical brilliance and work rate.

To continue his development, Lonergan has been loaned to Cardiff Metropolitan University and Newport City throughout the 2025-26 season, where he has featured regularly in the Cymru Leagues.
