Harrison Biggins returned to Newport County on a permanent basis in June 2026, following an impressive loan spell during the second half of the 2025-26 season. The experienced midfielder played a key role in helping Newport County secure League Two survival, quickly becoming an influential figure in the midfield and a popular player among supporters.

Born on March 15, 1996 in Sheffield, Biggins began his football journey with Barnsley before joining Stocksbridge Park Steels. His time in non-league football proved an important part of his development, combining football with working alongside his father before earning a return to the professional game.

Biggins joined Fleetwood Town in July 2017 and made his senior debut later that year in an EFL Trophy fixture against Carlisle United. He spent almost five years with Fleetwood, making more than 100 appearances before joining Barrow on loan during the 2020-21 season.

In July 2022, Biggins joined Doncaster Rovers, where he spent two seasons and established himself as an energetic and hard-working midfielder. He moved to Shrewsbury Town in June 2024, making 29 appearances during his first season with the club. He also spent part of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Carlisle United, making 17 appearances.

Biggins joined Newport County on loan from Shrewsbury Town in January 2026, with the move lasting until the end of the season. He made his Newport County debut against Gillingham on January 17 before scoring his first goal for the club one week later in a 2-1 victory over Chesterfield.

The midfielder quickly established himself as an important part of the side during the second half of the campaign. He made 21 League Two appearances, including 19 starts, scoring three goals and providing two assists. He played 1,686 league minutes and received six yellow cards.

Biggins played a particularly important role during Newport County's successful fight against relegation, contributing goals and assists during the decisive final months of the campaign. His final appearance of the season came in the 2-1 victory away at Barrow on May 2, a result which confirmed Newport County's League Two survival.

His performances earned him a permanent return to Rodney Parade in June 2026. Biggins now brings more than 250 senior appearances and extensive EFL experience to the Newport County midfield, offering energy, physicality, work rate and the ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch.

With his experience of League One and League Two football, as well as his strong finish to the 2025-26 campaign, Biggins will be an important member of the Newport County squad heading into the 2026-27 season.
