Cameron Norman returned to Newport County in June 2026, rejoining the club on a permanent basis after two seasons with Tranmere Rovers. The experienced right-back previously enjoyed a successful two-year spell at Rodney Parade, where he established himself as a consistent and attack-minded member of the Newport County side.
Born on October 12, 1995 in Norwich, England, Norman began his senior career with Woking before joining Concord Rangers and then Oxford United. He moved to Walsall in January 2019 and went on to make more than 60 appearances for the club, developing into an accomplished full-back in the EFL.
Norman joined Newport County in June 2021 and quickly became an important part of the side. Across the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, he made 92 appearances for the club, scoring six goals and providing 10 assists. His 2022-23 campaign was particularly impressive, with five goals and five assists in 46 League Two appearances.
Following his departure from Newport County in 2023, Norman spent the 2023-24 season with MK Dons before joining Tranmere Rovers in the summer of 2024.
During the 2025-26 season, Norman made 38 League Two appearances for Tranmere Rovers, including 25 starts, playing 2,359 minutes. He scored three goals and provided two assists, while receiving five yellow cards. His performances underlined his continued attacking contribution from the right side of defence.
Norman now returns to Newport County with more than 250 senior appearances across his career and extensive experience in League Two. His previous spell at Rodney Parade saw him become a popular figure with supporters, while his ability to contribute both defensively and in the final third makes him a valuable addition to the squad for the 2026-27 season.
Across his career, Norman has established himself as a versatile right-sided player, capable of operating as a right-back, wing-back or further forward. His experience, energy and attacking quality will provide Newport County with an experienced option on the right flank.
