Aaron Lewis returned to Newport County on 25 September 2026, joining the club on a free transfer following his departure from Mansfield Town.
Born in Swansea on 26 June 1998, Lewis came through the Swansea City academy before beginning his senior career with the Swans. He also had a loan spell with Doncaster Rovers before joining Lincoln City in 2019. During his time with Lincoln, he made a loan move to Newport County in October 2020, making his debut for the Exiles during the 2020–21 season.
Lewis returned to Newport County on a permanent basis in February 2021 and went on to establish himself as an important member of the squad. Across his two spells, he made more than 100 appearances for the Exiles and was part of the side that reached the Sky Bet League Two play-off final in 2020–21.
After leaving Newport in 2023, Lewis joined Mansfield Town, where he made 133 appearances across three seasons. He helped the Stags secure promotion from League Two during the 2023–24 campaign before continuing to feature in League One.
A versatile player capable of operating in both midfield and at full-back, Lewis brings significant EFL experience to the County squad, having featured regularly across League Two and League One during his career.
Lewis has also represented Wales at under-19, under-20 and under-21 level, earning 13 caps for the Wales Under-21 side.
