Anthony Driscoll-Glennon joined Newport County in June 2024, bringing both defensive solidity and attacking support from the left-back position. Known for his strong tackling, composure on the ball, and ability to contribute going forward, Glennon has added valuable experience and dynamism to the Exiles’ backline.
Born on 26 November 1999 in Bootle, Glennon began his youth career at Liverpool, where he progressed through the ranks before moving to Burnley in 2018. He captained Burnley’s under-23 side, demonstrating leadership qualities before gaining his first taste of senior football on loan at Grimsby Town during the 2019–20 season, where he made 27 appearances and scored his first professional goal. He signed permanently for Grimsby in June 2022, going on to feature 46 times for the Mariners in the Football League.
In June 2024, Glennon signed a two-year deal with Newport County, eager to make his mark at Rodney Parade. Across the 2024–25 season, he made a considerable impact: totalling 39 league appearances and scoring once, alongside further outings in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and other competitions to take his tally to 45 appearances in all. Glennon also proved to be a creative force, finishing the campaign as Newport County’s leading assist provider.
With his experience in the Football League, Glennon has established himself as a key player at Rodney Parade, combining defensive awareness with his ability to provide width and support in attack.
