Since arriving at Rodney Parade, Whitmore has quickly established himself as a key player in the Exiles' squad. He made his debut for Newport on August 10, 2024, in a League Two clash against Cheltenham Town, and just a week later, he scored his first goal for the club in a 3-1 victory over Doncaster Rovers.
