Club Physio Adam Roche confirmed “we sent Andrew for an MRI scan on Monday which confirmed our suspicions that he suffered an ACL injury. He will shortly undergo surgery to repair his ruptured ligament, which will likely keep him side lined for anywhere between 6 and 12 months due to the unpredictable nature of this type of injury”.
Manager Justin Edinburgh commented “This is a huge blow for Andrew as it is for the football club, his performances this season have been first class and knowing Andrew as a person, his temperament and attitude will get him back to full fitness sooner rather than later.”
Whilst we all know the severity of this injury, we have no doubt that Andrew will return to full fitness being the highly motivated professional that he is. All at Newport County AFC wish Andrew a speedy recovery.
