Goalkeeper Mitchell Beeney extends his stay with the Exiles.
The goalkeeper will now stay with the Exiles until the middle of April, after his initial loan spell expired following Saturday’s victory over Carlisle United at Rodney Parade.
Beeney, who made his Football League debut in our away fixture against York City, has made four appearances for the Exiles during his initial loan deal.
The Chelsea loanee will now remain at Rodney Parade until the 16th April, taking in our busy March schedule that sees the Club entertain Wycombe Wanderers, Barnet, Hartlepool United and local rivals Bristol Rovers at Rodney Parade.
Speaking about the extension to Mitchell’s loan, Manager Warren Feeney was happy to see Mitchell extend his stay at the Club.
“I’m delighted that Mitchell has chosen to extend his stay with us. I am very pleased to have him on board.”
He added, “The whole squad has taken to Mitchell and I want competition for places. I have three very good goalkeepers in the squad at present and I want to keep that competition for places, as it keeps everybody on their toes.”
“I have been very impressed with his performances so far. He comes from a very good footballing upbringing at Chelsea and he is a player that I am delighted to have at my disposal.”
The extended loan deal for Mitchell will run up to and including our Sky Bet League Two fixture against Stevenage United.
