This Saturday Newport County AFC welcome Swindon Town to Rodney Parade but there's more than just the football at Rodney Parade!
About the Match…
Our visitors are Swindon Town. Swindon currently sit just outside the playoffs and are looking to put an end to their four game winless run. They are led by manager Phil Brown who Flynn has bested once early in the season when County defeated Southend United in the Checkatrade Trophy Cup.
Joining us at Rodney Parade for the first time?
Great! We look forward to welcoming you! Rodney Parade is located right in the heart of the City and there's always plenty to do before and after a game. We aim to create a fantastic atmosphere throughout the whole ground to allow you to really enjoy your time in Newport.
So, put on something amber (or yellow) and get ready to sing along with the rest of the Amber Army! You’ll find loads of Handy Hints on our First Time Fans Webpage Page and can enjoy in-depth information in our First Time Fans Guide.
What’s happening apart from the football?
We Fight Any Claim Marquee - Hosted by Newport City Radio
As always, the We Fight Any Claim Marquee will be open from midday with Newport City Radio taking on the hosting duties from 1pm. They will be playing chart music, hosting live interviews with first team players (commencing 1.45pm), running competitions and introducing live music.
Can’t get there that early? Well, there’s no need to miss out on the build-up, you can listen live at www.newportcityradio.org
County in the Community - We Wear the Same Shirt
Keep an eye on the pitch at Half Time as our We Wear the Same Shirt Side take on Swindon Town's Every Player Counts team in a friendly match. The sides first competed just over a year ago and have played a number of friendlies ever since. The two sides will also be forming a guard of honour ahead of the game.
In order to get the We Wear the Same Shirt (WWtSS) team motivated ahead of the game, WWtSS ambassador Dan Butler visited the side's training session on Thursday.
Know the Score
We are joined by Bowel Cancer Suvivor Reg Harris as we raise awareness for the Know the Score Campaign. As part of the campaign, PFA Ambassador Matty Dolan was supporting Know the Score at training on Thursday.
Player of the Year
It's that time of the Season again! County fans are invited to vote for the winner of the Patron's Cup which is awarded to Fans' Player of the Year.
At Half Time...
As well as the fantastic County in the Community friendlies, we also have a very special presentation taking place on the pitch at half time. Keep an eye out for that!
The Club Shop will be open from 10am until kick off for you to pick up all your merchandise, shirts or programmes! We will also be open for 30 minutes after the full-time whistle.
We have some fantastic bargains in our End of Season sale with great savings to be made across all FBT Kit.
The Programme Shop
Not only is this the best place to purchase your matchday programme, The Programme Shop also boasts matchday programmes dating back over 40 years!
Located between the old Snelling Bar and the Club Shop, the Programme Shop is a little treasure trove of Matchday Programmes and Club badges from over 200 Clubs. They also stock books, magazines and a whole host of interesting football-related items for you to browse and buy. All this tucked away in a nook of Rodney Parade!
The Programme Shop will open at 1pm and close at kick off but will re-open for an hour after the match.
Bucket Collection – Prostate Cancer UK
Saturday, we welcome Prostate Cancer UK to Rodney Parade. Volunteers will be collecting money outside the ground and with your generosity will be raising money to beat a disease killing 1 man every 45 minutes in the UK.
Prostate Cancer UK is the Official Charity Partner of the EFL. Their “Man of Men” logo sits proudly in the squad numbers of every one of our player’s shirts.
Find out more about the charity here and please give generously.
Half Time Draw
The new and improved Half Time Draw is still going strong. Last week’s winner walked away with half the money raised whilst the three runners up took home fantastic prizes such as money off at the Club Shop and two free cinema tickets.
You can find out exactly what prizes are available and how you can be a winner without actually winning by clicking on the link below.
