Plymouth What's On

Victory for the Exiles in tomorrow evening’s final Checkatrade Trophy match versus Plymouth Argyle will see them advance to the knock-out stages of the competition.

Victory by five clear goals will see Newport County AFC finish top of the group (and guarantee a home tie) whilst victory by four goals or less will see them finish below Chelsea U21s but above Swindon Town on goal-difference.  A second place finish will be enough to progress but will mean the Exiles are drawn away from home in the next round.

But what’s happening outside the football?

Newport County AFC are opening the Bisley Stand only for this match.  Tickets are just £7 for adults for our final Checkatrade Group Match of the season making it an affordable way for you to come and support your team.

Ticket details and information can be found here.

Tickets can be purchase here.

The Ticket Office at Rodney Parade will open at 5.30pm for this Checkatrade Trophy match.  If you would like to purchase tickets on the day before 5.30pm, tickets will be on sale from the Club Shop (Kingsway Centre) from 9.30am-5pm.

Our Match Day Programme will be charged at just £1.50 and will focus on Southern Group C.  Re-live a comprehensive Checkatrade Trophy victory over Chelsea U21s and read all about our visitors, Plymouth Argyle.  There is also the usual update from the manager and a welcome to our mascot!

Checkatrade have donated tickets for this match to our County in the Community Team.  We are delighted to welcome the County fans of tomorrow to today’s game all thanks to the generosity of Checkatrade.

Look out for these young football fans in the pre-match guard of honour.

All Checkatrade Trophy matches must have an outright winner.  If the teams are drawing at full-time, there will be a penalty shootout.  Penalties are taken in the traditional ABAB manner.

The winner of the penalty shootout will receive a bonus point.  For this particular group, a draw and bonus point for either Newport County AFC or Plymouth Argyle will not be enough to alter the group standings and Chelsea U21s and Swindon Town will progress.
