Cameron Evans signs new Newport County deal

Evans

Newport County defender Cameron Evans has signed a new deal with the club, extending his stay at Rodney Parade following a consistent campaign.

Evans made 41 appearances last season, operating across full-back, centre-back and midfield roles, highlighting his importance and versatility within the squad. His adaptability proved valuable across a demanding League Two season.

The 25-year-old has developed into a trusted option since arriving at Newport County in July 2024 on a two-year contract, providing depth and reliability across the backline and in midfield when required.

Evans joined after gaining experience across different levels of the game, including spells with Waterford, Sligo Rovers and Taunton Town, having come through the Swansea City academy. That background has helped him settle into regular EFL football and contribute consistently.

He also played a key role in the club’s survival bid last season, scoring a decisive goal at home to Tranmere Rovers in a crucial moment of the campaign.

Wearing shirt number two, Evans has become a steady presence in the squad, offering composure, flexibility and defensive stability.
