Harrison Biggins says he is excited to be back at Newport County after completing his permanent return to Rodney Parade.

The midfielder rejoined the club following a successful loan spell during the second half of last season, where he played an important role in helping Newport County secure League Two survival.

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Biggins admitted returning to South Wales was an easy decision after the welcome he received from staff, teammates and supporters during his previous spell at the club.

"I'm delighted to be back here," he said.

"I joined in January last year and loved my time here from the first day I came in. I was made to feel so welcome by the staff, the players and, of course, the fans. I'm looking forward to getting going again."

Biggins was a key figure as Newport County secured safety on the final day of the season and says the achievement remains one of his proudest moments.

"That last day will stick with me for a long time," he added.

"Everyone put so much effort into it. There were some tough times and some tough weekends, but that's part of football. The way we bounced back and eventually achieved what we did was a credit to everybody."

The 30-year-old also revealed how much his time at Rodney Parade helped him rediscover his enjoyment of the game and convinced him to make the move permanent.

"Before I joined, it had been a tough period for me in football," he explained.

"But from the moment I arrived here, I felt welcomed. The fans got right behind me from the start and gave me the confidence to go and express my qualities. I'd like to think I did that and hopefully I can continue to do so."

Looking ahead to the new season, Biggins is eager to continue enjoying his football while helping the team both on and off the pitch.

"I want to keep enjoying my football, keep playing for this club as much as possible, stay fit and hopefully add some more goals to my game," he said.

"I've become one of the older players in the group now and hopefully I can help others, be a voice when needed and lead by example."

Biggins also took the opportunity to thank the Newport County supporters for their backing throughout last season and is hoping for more memorable moments in the campaign ahead.

"I appreciate all the support from last season," he said.

"The Barrow game speaks for itself. The support from the Amber Army that day was fantastic and hopefully that continues this season with plenty more wins and good days to celebrate.

"You look at the away support as well. Cheltenham towards the end of the season was another great example. Those packed away ends are what you want to play in front of. They give you that extra bit of motivation to go and impress and get the results that are needed."
