Newport County welcome Reading FC to Rodney Parade this evening for our latest pre-season fixture, with kick-off scheduled for 7:30 pm.

Following a productive pre-season campaign, the Exiles return to home soil looking to continue building momentum ahead of the new campaign, as supporters get another opportunity to see the squad in action under the lights at Rodney Parade.

Reading provide another competitive test as preparations for the 2026-27 season continue, with both sides eager to put in a strong performance ahead of the new campaign.

Getting to Rodney Parade

By Train

The nearest train station is Newport (Gwent), approximately a 10-minute walk from Rodney Parade.

  • Exit the station via Platform 1.
  • Cross the road and turn left, following the pavement past Delilah's Café.
  • Continue past the Market Arcade and Popadom's Indian Restaurant.
  • Take the staircase on your right through the underpass to Clarence Street Bridge.
  • Cross the bridge and turn right onto Rodney Road, where Rodney Parade is just ahead.

By Car

From the West:

Supporters travelling from the west are advised that Malpas Road remains closed from M4 Junction 26 to Harlequin Roundabout, which may result in delays.

Please allow extra travelling time and follow signed diversion routes towards Newport city centre before rejoining the route via Chepstow Road.

  • Take Junction 26 from the M4.
  • Follow diversion signs towards Newport city centre.
  • Rejoin the route towards Chepstow Road.
  • Turn right onto Chepstow Road at the traffic lights.
  • Take the first right onto Cedar Road.
  • Turn right onto Corporation Road.
  • Turn left onto Grafton Road, where Rodney Parade is located on your left.

From the East:

  • Exit the M4 at Junction 25a.
  • Follow Heidenheim Way.
  • Continue across the River Usk via the roundabouts.
  • Bear right onto Chepstow Road.
  • Take the first right onto Cedar Road.
  • Turn right onto Corporation Road.
  • Turn left onto Grafton Road for Rodney Parade.

By Bus

Newport Bus operate services across the city on matchdays. Please plan your journey in advance.

Arriving at Rodney Parade

Supporters are encouraged to arrive early to ensure smooth entry into the stadium.

Turnstiles will open approximately 90 minutes before kick-off.

Before Kick-Off

Why not head to Barcode before the match and enjoy a drink or something to eat with fellow supporters before the action gets underway?

The Rodney Parade Club Shop will also be open before kick-off, stocked with a wide range of official Newport County merchandise.

Please note that the marquee will not be open for tonight's fixture.

Parking

There is no supporter parking available inside Rodney Parade.

Food & Drink

Food kiosks and burger units are available throughout the stadium concourse, serving a range of hot food, snacks and refreshments.

Please note that all stadium kiosks are card-only.

Club Shop

The main VX3 Club Shop is located in Friars Walk Shopping Centre, around a 5-10 minute walk from Rodney Parade.

A smaller matchday club shop is also situated next to the Ticket Office at Rodney Parade.

Please note that only the East Stand will be open for tonight's fixture.

Supporters are kindly asked to enter the stadium via the East Stand turnstiles Gate four and sit within the designated open areas. We appreciate your cooperation and support.
