As we welcome Reading to Rodney Parade, we've put together a selection of indie favourites to get you ready for kick-off, featuring tracks from the likes of Cast, Shed Seven, The Libertines, Feeder and plenty more.
We’re also showcasing some of the best emerging talent from across South Wales, with this week's playlist featuring tracks from Redwood City, Southbound and Airflo.

Someone | Redwood City
Redwood City are a Caerphilly-based indie band creating uplifting and introspective music inspired by everyday experiences, beach sunsets and living in the moment.
At just 19 years old, the band have already built a reputation through relentless gigging and songwriting, delivering energetic live performances and a sound that blends melodic indie rock with atmospheric alternative influences.
Their music combines shimmering guitars, driving rhythms and memorable hooks, capturing the energy of youth and the landscapes that surround them in South Wales.
The band recently performed at the Summer Sessions event at Beechwood Park.
Chameleon | Southbound
Southbound are an emerging indie rock band from Cardiff, formed in 2024 by students at the University of South Wales.
Combining driving guitars, atmospheric production and anthemic choruses, the band take inspiration from classic alternative rock and the new wave of British indie music.
Their latest single, ‘Chameleon’, explores the ability some people have to adapt and change depending on their surroundings, showcasing another side to the band's sound following previous release ‘Backseat Lover’.
With energetic live performances and emotionally charged songwriting, Southbound are a band to keep an eye on.
Mend | Airflo
South Wales indie rock band Airflo bring soaring melodies, driving guitars and emotionally charged songwriting to this week's playlist.
Blending elements of modern alternative rock, Britpop and atmospheric indie, the band create anthemic tracks that explore themes of identity, resilience, relationships and ambition.
Their latest single ‘Mend’ was written by James Wilson and is a track that carries special meaning for the band.
Speaking about the song, Airflo said: “It’s a track we played a few times with James, but only recorded recently. It was a strange one being in the studio trying to work out what parts he would play, but we think we've done it justice.”
