Barrow were founded on 16 July 1901 and within seven years found themselves in the First Division of the Lancashire Combination.

However, in 1921 the Bluebirds became a founding member of the Football League Third Division North and later became founding members of the Football League Division Four.

The 1950s saw FA Cup success for Barrow as they progressed to the third round and faced Football League Champions Wolves, but they missed out on a win, losing 4-2.

However, after many years in the Football League, Barrow were voted out after financial difficulties.

However, after many years of absence from the Football League Barrow finally returned after winning the National League in 2020.

Barrow have since remained in League Two but look to be on the brink of relegation as they sit rock bottom of the league.

One player to look out for in midfield is Charlie McCann.

McCann has featured in 33 league matches this season and contributes massively to the structure of Barrow’s midfield.

The midfielder has also scored four goals in the league as well as providing one assist.

Josh Gordan is another player to keep an eye on in the Bluebirds attack.

Gordan has scored nine goals in this league campaign as he looks to impress his parent club, Walsall.

The striker has also scored two goals in his last three games.
