New signing Michael Reindorf says he's excited to hit the ground running after joining Newport County on a season-long loan from Cardiff City.
The 20-year-old forward, who has developed through the academies of West Ham, Norwich City and most recently Cardiff City, joined up with the Exiles squad this week as preparations continue ahead of the new League Two campaign.
And after enjoying a loan spell with Bristol Rovers last season, Reindorf is confident that his experiences so far have helped shape him for the challenges ahead.
“Every club has given me something different,” he explained. “I started at West Ham when I was younger, moved to Norwich, then on to Cardiff, and had my loan at Bristol Rovers last season. All of those experiences have helped me grow and learn. Now I want to take that into this next step.”
When asked what supporters can expect from him on the pitch, Reindorf offered a clear idea of his playing style.
“I’d say I’m a direct player. I like to come to feet, I like to run in behind, and I always aim to contribute with goals and assists. I want to be someone who delivers for the team.”

The striker also shared his first impressions of life at the club after joining up with David Hughes’ squad.
“Everything was really positive. The manager is very big on standards and creating a good environment, and that really stood out to me. That’s something I’m looking forward to being a part of.”
Reindorf already has clear goals for the months ahead, both personal and team-focused, and is eager to make his mark at Rodney Parade.
“I want to help the team push for the top end of the table. I think we can aim for big things this season. Personally, I want to get as many goals as possible, that’s my job as a striker.”
Despite having not yet played at Rodney Parade, the prospect of a debut in front of the home fans is one he’s relishing.
“This will be my first time playing at the stadium, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m ready to go out there on the opening day, feel the energy from the crowd, and give everything for the team.”
Welcome to Newport, Michael!
