Head coach Nelson Jardim admitted his side must learn from their mistakes following their 3-0 home defeat to Cheltenham Town.
A first half header from Matty Taylor and two second half strikes from Ethan Williams and Ethan Archer saw the Exiles defeated at Rodney Parade.
“We didn’t deserve to come off at half-time losing,” he said post-match. “We started very well and created some good chances but their goal came completely against the run of play.
“We lost momentum and when they scored their second after a mistake the game became a lot more difficult.
“We always find it hard when it goes towards that style with long balls in behind and direct football.
"We didn’t cope with it. Sometimes we got sucked into their game.
“It was similar to Chesterfield where a 3-0 score was too much for what happened in the game. It wasn’t that the opposition was much, much better than us.
“We just have to learn from our mistakes and start another good run.”
Jardim also confirmed that David Ajiboye missed the defeat because his partner was in labour.
