Head coach Nelson Jardim hopes his Newport County side can continue building on their recent performances as they prepare to face Crewe Alexandra on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
The Exiles have enjoyed a positive run of form recently, earning back-to-back wins against Barrow and Morecambe, prior to a 1-1 draw away at play-off hopefuls Salford City.
This recent sequence of results has seen County move 10 points clear of the drop zone and climb to 17th in the league standings.
And the Portuguese hopes the Exiles can utilise the hard work and the positivity put into recent results as a springboard, as they make the trip north this weekend.
“It’s a happy camp after the past few results. Seven points from three games is a great return for us, and we’re really pleased with it,” he said.
“I’m genuinely delighted for the players because they’ve been putting in so much hard work every week, and it’s nothing less than they deserve.
“It’s a fair reward for them, but we must continue building on what we’ve been doing, and that’s the plan going forward.
“There are a few tired legs from Tuesday due to the effort everyone put in, so we will have to assess certain individuals.
“That said, we’re looking for consistency in our play and team selection, and it’s about managing certain players.”
He continued: “The last few results were massively important, everyone knew that. We had to dig deep in the last few matches, and we’re aiming for more every day and every week.
“In terms of spirit, fight, and character, the boys have really shown that this week. This is what this club is built on – those fundamentals.
“What we need now is to keep this run going for as long as we can. We know it won’t be easy, but we’re determined as a group to build on this unbeaten run.”

The Exiles will head to Cheshire tomorrow afternoon where they face promotion pushers Crewe Alexandra in League Two.
Jardim is expecting a tough challenge but remains confident in his side’s ability to create problems as they aim for a third consecutive win.
“It’s always a tough match and a tough place to go. But we have to stay positive and focus on ourselves, as we always do,” he added.
“We know we’ll be facing a team that’s in good form. Defensively, they’re one of the best in the league, if not the best. So we know what we’ll be up against, but we also know what we can do.
“That’s a real plus for us – when you know your own team, you know your capabilities. And we’re very positive about that.”
