Newport County is pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Keenan Patten, subject to EFL approval.
The 23-year-old agreed an 18-month deal with the Exiles on deadline day, having most recently played for JD Cymru Premier side Barry Town United.
Patten becomes the sixth addition of the January transfer window, joining Lewis Webb, David Ajiboye, Tom Davies, Josh Martin, and Jaden Warner.
He is also the second player to join from the Welsh top flight this season, following the summer arrival of Kai Whitmore from Haverfordwest County AFC.
A product of the Cardiff City Academy, Patten signed a scholarship in 2017-18 before earning a professional contract with the Bluebirds in 2019.
During his time at Cardiff, he had loan stints at Hereford FC in the National League North and at Penybont, before making a permanent move to AFC Fylde in August 2022.
The versatile and dynamic midfielder has also represented Wales at various youth international levels. This season, Patten has scored 10 goals in 26 games for the Lillytwhites.
Upon completing his move, Patten said: “I’m absolutely delighted to join the club.
“To get this over the line is great and I’m really looking forward to getting started.
“I’m excited for the challenge of League Two football and I can’t wait to get out there.”
