Meet County in The Community 'Keeper Max Manson

14 July 2017

Max Manson is a valued member of the County in the Community College Programme. He epitomises what the programme represents: hard work in college and hard work in training.

Max is not only a star of the successful Futsal Team, he is also currently achieving Distinction in a BTEC Extended Diploma in Sports Excellence qualification.

Dave Lewis, who nominated Max for the photoshoot, said: “Max is an excellent Goalkeeper who has the potential to play at a high standard if he continues to develop in the right way. He is an all-round credit to the club.”

County’s futsal team has had a tremendous season, winning the Futsal Championships, remaining unbeaten in the process (much like the Academy team). The development Futsal team was also successful, enjoying a steady season.

The mission for next year’s squad is to emulate the achievements, something Max says is feasible for the team.

He said: “We’ve set the bar now so it’s all about setting it even higher – we want to regain our championship, the standard at the moment is really high so we have great confidence that we can do it and better ourselves in the process.

“We’ve got 28 boys on the college programme for next season so that’s really encouraging. We’ve got a really strong unit together and I think that’s instilled within us from watching the first-team and all the other teams supported by the club and the community.”
