Hayden Mullins gave his reflection on the game following Newport County's 1-0 defeat to Cheltenham Town.
"I think the start of the game has really undone us today; we've given away a bit of a cheap goal that we were unhappy with.
"I was pleased with the response in the first half; we sort of steadied again and got back into the game.
"In the second half we were really front-footed, but on another day, we potentially could have won it."
Mullins also spoke on the penalty and said that there is no blame on Harrison Biggins.
"I don't think we ever blame anyone who steps up to take a penalty.
"It's 50-50, if you choose one side, then the goalkeeper chooses that side; it happens.
"He stepped up, and he wanted to take the penalty, and he scored one in the other game against Rotherham, and he was confident enough to go up today."
The game saw many cards fly out of the referee's pocket, as Mullins spoke about the disruption during the second half.
"I think the flow of the game in the second half, we were concerned, got a little bit disruptive. There were loads of passages of play where the game kept being stopped.
"But with the tackles, I think there were two teams that wanted to win, that went head-to-head with each other and really tried to maximise everything they had and left it all on the pitch."
