Hayden Mullins | "Its just a shame that we couldn't top the evening off with some kind of result”

Match Reaction 2-1

Hayden Mullins praised Harrison Biggins' stunning strike from his own half, while also highlighting the midfielder's overall contribution to the team.

"Yes, it was absolutely fantastic. I think he's been threatening that for a couple of weeks now. He's been threatening that, done one against Roma too.

"We know he's got that in his armoury and I think he's put in a really good battling performance for us as well. A lot of running he puts in for the team, forward and back, and really grafts, so he deserved that tonight.

"It's just a shame that we couldn't top the evening off with some kind of result."

Mullins admitted it was frustrating to leave with nothing after County had taken the lead, particularly after conceding so late in the contest.

"Yes, very. Especially conceding so late on really. Conceding in the 90th minute is always tough.

"The boys were running on empty in the end. I think we put in such a shift. It would have been really good if we could have come away with a result, but it wasn't to be and away we go again."

The County boss also praised the travelling supporters, who made their voices heard throughout Tuesday night's game.

"It was absolutely fantastic and we could hear them. Just glad we could give them something to shout about really. The goal that they saw tonight was special from Harrison and it was fantastic for them.

"We really appreciate their support. We can hear them. The amount of noise they make is brilliant and they really help the boys on the pitch.

"Going over after and seeing them, I think they appreciated what the lads put in, which was first class."

Attention now turns to Saturday's trip to Northampton Town, with Mullins looking for his side to respond positively on the road.

"It's big. Every game that we set up, I think firstly we need to try and attack the game and we want to be a positive team.

"I'm sure the game on Saturday will be no different. It will be a tough side again. What these lads have got in their squad and the budget they've got is a big budget.

"I'm sure Northampton have just come down and been relegated, 11 points off, so it will be a good test for us. We're looking forward to it."
