Jaden Warner | It was a good day and debut

Jaden Warner

Jaden Warner reflected on a "good team performance" after he made his debut in Tuesday night's 3-1 win over Gillingham.

Three goals within 30 minutes from Bobby Kamwa were enough to secure all three points for the Exiles, despite the visitors pulling a goal back through Jimmy-Jay Morgan late into the second half.

Speaking about his debut in front of the Amber Army, Warner said: "It was great to make my debut here, in front of the fans, and most importantly, we got all three points in a good team performance. Overall, it was a good day and debut.

"I thought we were really solid defensively, and we worked well as a unit, defending from the front too. I’m happy with my performance, but I know there’s much more to show and give.

"There’s always going to be competition in the squad, so when you’re given your chance, you have to prove what you can do. Hopefully, I did that today, and I look forward to many more games.

"Getting three points today is huge for us. It’ll definitely help with the momentum as we head into the game against Chesterfield on Saturday."

Kamwa was the star of the show with his first-half hat-trick, and Warner had high praise for his teammate.

"We all know what Bobby can do—he’s a great player,” he added.

“Once again, he showed what he’s capable of. He’s a real outlet and a bright spark for us."
