Keenan Patten signs new short-term deal with Newport County

Patten

Newport County is pleased to confirm that Keenan Patten has signed a new short-term deal with the club.

The midfielder, who joined Newport County in January 2025, has agreed fresh terms as he looks to reignite his career at Rodney Parade following a challenging spell with injury.

Patten suffered an open leg fracture during a pre-season fixture against Bristol City in July 2025, an injury that required surgery and a lengthy recovery period. After a determined rehabilitation process, he has now returned to full fitness and is ready to return to action.

The short-term agreement provides Patten with the opportunity to rebuild momentum and re-establish himself within the squad as he looks to make an impact once again in amber.

The Welsh midfielder began his career in the Cardiff City academy before gaining senior experience with loan spells at Hereford FC and Penybont, later moving to AFC Fylde and Barry Town United, where he enjoyed a productive spell that helped earn his move into the Football League.

Everyone at Newport County is delighted to see Keenan back to full fitness and looks forward to his continued journey with the club.
