Newport County return to winning ways after coming back from behind to seal a 2-1 victory.
Hayden Mullins recorded his first victory as County manager as goals from Shaquille Gwengwe and Lee Jenkins secured the win.
Luke McCormick did score for Yeovil within the first five minutes of the game but it was not enough for the home side.
Mullins will look to continue his form as Newport next face Roma.
It was Yeovil who scored the first goal of the game within four minutes as Archie Davies ran past Matt Smith with the ball being pulled back to McCormick, who slotted it past Jordan Wright.
The Glovers continued to press the backline as Davies shot from far but his shot was deflected wide for a corner which resulted in a goal kick.
Neither team could break through the lines of defence after the opener, as both teams were committed to staying strong with both teams’ efforts being denied.
A sequence of shots faced Yeovil’s defence as Gwengwe and Yahya Bamba’s efforts towards goal were blocked and cleared away after a free kick for Smith.
Bamba continued to show his presence after Christian Doidge laid the ball to his feet as he sprinted towards Jos Barker, but his chipped effort just drifted wide.
Just before the half-hour mark, another Smith delivery was put into the box, which found Cameron Norman on the edge of the congested six-yard box, but his shot was put over the bar.
But County would be rewarded for their pressure as another Smith set piece found Lee Jenkins in the box who’s deflected effort found the head of Gwengwe to put the game on a level-head.
Smith continued his dominant display as he had his first shot on goal but the keeper done well to tip the ball over the crossbar.
The opening five minutes of the second half started slowly until Norman won a free kick outside the box, which Smith delivered to Jenkins who blasted the ball into the back of the net to put the Exiles in front.
Newport’s attack continued as chances came consistently for the away side but were just unable to add a third to the score line.
Just beyond the 60-minute mark there were calls for a penalty after Davies went down in the box but play resumed as the referee dismissed any penalty calls.
With 15 minutes to spare, Wright was forced to make a save as a powerful strike aiming towards goal almost found its way into the net.
Moments later Thomas was brought to the rescue as a header inside the box almost found the goal, but the defender was able to clear the ball off the line.
Harri Pugh attempted to find someone in the box minutes before the full-time whistle, but his delivery was unable to find a County man in the area.
