Newport County is delighted to announce the signing of winger Michael Adu-Poku on a season-long loan from Watford.
The twenty-year-old arrives at Rodney Parade with a wealth of experience for his age, having already gained regular first-team football across the National League and EFL.
Adu-Poku joined the Watford academy at the age of thirteen and progressed through the club's youth system before making his senior debut against Reading in the FA Cup in January 2023, aged just seventeen.
The winger has since enjoyed a number of loan spells as he has continued his development, including with Maidstone United, Solihull Moors and Rochdale before joining League Two side Barrow for the first half of the 2025-26 campaign. He made eight appearances for Barrow before returning to Watford in January.
Adu-Poku subsequently spent the second half of the campaign with Wealdstone, where he made 16 appearances.
A fleet-footed wide player capable of operating as a winger or wide forward, Adu-Poku now joins Hayden Mullins' squad for the 2026-27 campaign and will provide another attacking option in the wide areas.
