Michael reflects on a strong performance from the side as Newport County secured another three points at Rodney Parade.
“It was a really good performance from the boys. I think we put in the hard work and it resulted in the three points, so it was really good to get the win.”
Michael also discusses his role in the first half, including his involvement in a move which saw him get onto the end of Cam Norman’s ball before looking to lay it off to Shaquille Gwengwe.
“Yeah, definitely. It helps us as a team and gets us forward. You’ve got to work hard up there, so we’ve just got to continue doing that.”
The forward has settled into life at Newport County since making the move from Watford and says he has enjoyed his time at the club so far.
“Very much. It’s been a good time so far and hopefully we can keep it going for the rest of the season.”
Michael also highlighted the influence of Hayden Mullins, who has helped give him the confidence to express himself on the pitch.
“He’s been talking to me and helping me out a lot, giving me that confidence to go out there and just do my thing. It just helps when you have a gaffer like that.”
With Mullins placing his faith in Michael and Shaquille Gwengwe as part of his attacking options, Michael says that confidence encourages them to remain positive and continue working hard.
“It just encourages us to be positive, keep going and keep working hard. That’s where you can make an impact.”
Michael rounded off his performance by getting on the scoresheet and was delighted to contribute to another important team victory.
“Yeah, I was really happy. It was a team effort and I’m always going to give credit to my teammates as well. I’m just buzzing with that.”
