Newport County is delighted to confirm the signing of defender Dan Sassi.
The centre-back joins Rodney Parade ahead of the 2026-27 season, adding strength and competition to the defensive unit as preparations continue for the new campaign.
Sassi arrives with experience gained across several loan spells in senior football, having developed through the academies of Stoke City and Burnley before moving into the professional game with Blackpool.
During his time in senior football, the 22-year-old has gained valuable minutes across the National League, featuring for clubs including Rochdale, AFC Fylde and Altrincham, continuing his development in competitive environments.
Known for his physical presence, aerial ability and defensive awareness, Sassi adds quality and balance to the centre-back options at Rodney Parade.
The defender now makes the step into the EFL with Newport County, where he will look to establish himself within the first-team squad and contribute consistently across the season.
